The Huskies’remarkable 16-11 win over the University of New Orleans capped a flawless championship run,highlighting an inspiring underdog story.Entering the tournament as the No.6 seed,the Huskies defied expectations by going undefeated through the SLC Bracket Play and Championship Series.This victory represents resilience,determination,and the potential to overcome challenges,qualities that deeply resonate with our district’s values and aspirations.

Reflecting on the significance of this season,Coach Clay VanderLaan emphasized,“It’s a special year because this is my first year and we have 33 new guys.Being able to bring these guys together who have never met each other,much less played together,and for them to gel and build a culture and an environment in such a short amount of time—that’s the most special thing about this season for me.These guys literally just met and have become almost brothers.”
