TRAFFIC SIGNAL WORK AUTHORIZATION N0.12/WESTPARK DRIVE AND WESTHOLME DRIVE
|
|
Work Authorization No.12 has been issued for intersection improvements at Westpark Drive and Westholme Drive.
Construction has begun and is anticipated to and by January 4, 2022. This work authorization will take 90 days to be completed.
The project contractor is Traffic Systems construction, Inc. |

MAYOR’S STREET REHABILITATION INITIATIVE/WORK AUTHORIZATION N0.11 BARKER-CYPRESS
(HARRIS COUNTY LINE – WESTHEIMER RD.)
|
|
Work Authorization No.11 has been issued to Overlay along Barker-Cypress from Harris County Line to Westheimer Rd.
Construction has begun and is anticipated to end by October 18, 2021. This Work Authorization will take 31 days to be completed.
The project contractor is Angel Brothers Enterprises, Inc.

NEIGHBORHOOD MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM
CALL FOR APPLICATIONSGrants support neighborhood improvement and beautification projects
Application Deadline – November 5, 2021
The FY 2022 Neighborhood Matching Grant Program application period is open! The program supports neighborhood improvement and beautification projects by providing dollar-for-dollar matching grant reimbursements ranging from $500 to $5,000. The application deadline is November 5, 2021, 5 p.m. The program is administered by the Department of Neighborhoods (DON) in partnership with participating Houston City Council offices.

On October 2nd, the Alief Super Neighborhood Council and the Empty Shelter Project spayed/neutered 309 animals for FREE. We appreciate their support of District F. |

CARVER CREST NEIGHBORHOOD HOSTED THEIR FIRST NATIONAL NIGHT OUT

|
On October 5th, Carver Crest celebrated its first National Night Out! The night brought together the community, the Harris County Area Agency on Aging, Houston Fire Department, and Houston Police Department. |

SUPERINTENDENT CHAMBERS PRESENTS INFORMATION ABOUT THE ALIEF ISD BOND REFERENDUM ON NOVEMBER 2, 2021

HISD is establishing their 2021-2022 Capital Planning Steering Committee — an independent citizens committee charged with providing strategic direction, feedback, and guidance to the district as we address capital needs identified in the 2021 facilities assessment.
They are looking for up to 25 knowledgeable and dedicated volunteers who are invested in HISD, believe in their students, and want to help them create a framework for the future.
The deadline to apply has been extended to Oct. 15, 2021. Please review the committee guidelines and consider submitting an application.
Appointments will be announced on Oct. 25, 2021, with meetings expected to begin in November.
