Despite light rain at the start of the evening,the Southwest Houston community showed up in full force for Liberty Fest 2025,a free festival and concert that brought thousands together in the spirit of unity,liberty,and celebration.Held at PlazAmericas Mall,this year’s event honored 25 years of service by the Southwest Management District while showcasing the cultural strength and vibrancy of the nation’s most diverse city.

In a time when unity matters more than ever,Liberty Fest served as a powerful reminder of what brings our community together.Performances throughout the evening highlighted Houston’s multicultural heartbeat — from the stirring national anthem sung by radio artist Alexis Finley,to mariachis, K-pop dancers,a Chinese fashion show,and more.The festival reflected a city where all cultures are welcomed and celebrated.

The night’s most anticipated performances came from Diana Torres,who lit up the stage with her electrifying Shakira tribute,and Houston hip-hop legend Paul Wall,whose high-energy set had the crowd singing,dancing,and chanting his name long after his final song.His appearance brought a surge of excitement and appreciation from fans who were thrilled to meet and celebrate with one of the city’s most iconic artists.

The evening concluded with a spectacular 16-minute fireworks finale,officially counted down by Council Member Edward Pollard,lighting up the night sky in honor of freedom and community.

This annual celebration is made possible through the efforts of the Southwest Management District,in collaboration with the Sharpstown Civic Association and the generous support of Commissioner Lesley Briones, Council Member Edward Pollard, McDonald’s,Frost Bank,and the Houston Police Department.With over 100 vendors,Liberty Fest 2025 offered something for everyone — food,fun,culture,and unforgettable memories.
