The Chinese Community Center(CCC)hosted the 2025 Global One Bank Houston Open Pickleball Tournament at Pickleball Country Club on September 13–14,marking a new milestone in the event’s evolution with support from event partners JCCAA(大專校聯會)and TFGAA(北一女).The two-day tournament drew over 500 participants—including 300 players,40 from outside Houston—and more than 60 volunteers.

What began in 2023 as a small outdoor competition with just 100 players has steadily grown into a full-scale public tournament.The 2024 edition moved indoors,nearly doubling participation,and this year’s event solidified its reputation as the premier pickleball competition in the region.

The 2025 tournament featured 13 divisions with $9,450 in cash prizes.Competitors spanned multiple generations and cultural backgrounds—showcasing Houston’s diverse and vibrant community.Youth participation added an inspiring element,with 14-year-old Satsey and 10-year-old Brady competing as the youngest pair,highlighting the sport’s appeal to families and the next generation of players.

CCC Board Chair Ernest Hui emphasized that the tournament is more than a sports event.“It bridges generations and cultures while promoting healthy,active lifestyles,” Hui said.“It also strengthens community ties,bringing together participants from across Houston and neighboring cities,including Dallas and Austin.”

With fundraising led by Southwest Management District Board member Dawn Li and Chair Kenneth Li,the tournament received strong support from sponsors including Global One Bank,Southwest Management District,AARP Houston,Global Federation of Chinese Business Women,Taiwan Hotel&Motel Association of Greater Houston,Intercity Realty,Rocky Lai&Associates,Don Wang,International Management District,Texas Safety and Business Alliance,and Peter Ko,enabling CCC to provide professional-level prizes and a top-quality experience for all participants.
