Hispanic Heritage Month takes place from September 15th to October 15th every year as a time to recognize and celebrate the many contributions, diverse cultures, and extensive histories of the American Latino community. Beginning in 1968, Hispanic Heritage Month was originally observed as “Hispanic Heritage Week” under President Lyndon Johnson but was later extended to a month during President Ronald Reagan in 1988.
Through October 15th, we will be dedicating this section of our newsletter towards celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. We are also producing a video to shine a spotlight on the Hispanic community of District F. If you would like to nominate someone for this video, please let us know: [email protected]. |
