The Southwest Management District welcomed students from the Awty International School on Tuesday (March 26) as they made cultural enrichment visits to the sleek, new Shabu En hot pot restaurant and the Tzu Chi USA center, a Buddhist global relief organization that has supplied food to the needy at several Houston events.
After lunch at Shabu En, David Peters, chairman of the District board’s business and economic development committee, explained to students and teachers the District’s economic development role, which features the funding of a variety of public safety measures along with the abatement of graffiti and litter.
With more than 1,800 students who come from more than 50 nations, Awty says it is the largest international day school in the United States. Good luck to the students and faculty, and please return to sample the District’s cultural riches!
