To join the committee, please complete this intake form and respond to this email by Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
Precinct 4 Healthy Parks Plan
This precinct-wide plan aims to create a healthier and more equitable parks and greenspace system for residents and visitors of Precinct 4. This includes creating connectivity between parks, passive greenspace, and trails with economic centers, neighborhoods, places of worship, and schools. This plan will be supported by precinct-wide public and stakeholder engagement, and data analysis to:
- > Increase equitable park access
- > Reduce the environmental vulnerability of communities adjacent to parks
- > Improve community physical and mental health with parks and greenspace
- > Leverage parks to improve socioeconomic outcomes
Engagement Committee
The Engagement Committee will help guide an intentional, strategic, and purposeful engagement process to connect and empower individuals and communities across Precinct 4. The committee will bring together county and city agencies, civic and business groups, nonprofit organizations, and other stakeholders to understand issues, identify concerns and considerations, and engage in problem-solving and brainstorming around the Healthy Parks Plan recommendations.
As a committee member, you will:
- > Attend four (4) Engagement Committee virtual meetings throughout the duration of the project (October 2024 – Summer 2025)
- > Offer key insights and on-the-ground support for conducting proactive, culturally-responsive, and inclusive engagement with Precinct 4’s diverse communities
- > Identify concerns and considerations and engage in problem-solving and brainstorming around the Healthy Parks Plan recommendations
Can we count on you to join the Healthy Parks Plan Engagement Committee and work with us to create a healthier and more equitable parks and greenspace system for residents of Precinct 4?
