Friends,
We are all still navigating these challenging times, and I, too, am currently without power. I am frustrated, I am upset, and I feel all the anger and confusion that you do. Once power is restored, rest assured I will be working to get the answers that we all deserve to know pertaining to storm preparation, recovery, and restoration. In the meantime, as your Council Member, I want to share some important updates and encourage proactive measures for your safety and well-being.
Restoration Goals:
- By the end of Saturday, 400,000 customers are expected to have power restored.
- On Sunday, another 300,000 customers should see their power return.
- By Monday, approximately 300,000 more customers will be back online.
Safety Recommendations:
If you have the means to evacuate, please consider staying with family or friends or visiting local cooling centers. Your safety is our priority.
CenterPoint Energy Updates:
CenterPoint Energy employees, contractors, and mutual assistance crews are diligently working in your community to restore power after Hurricane Beryl. Damage assessment, including tree cutting and trimming, is a critical part of this process.
If you see them around your property, please secure pets and allow them access to ensure a smooth restoration process. All CenterPoint Energy employees and contractors wear uniforms and carry identification badges. They will show their badges upon request if not immediately visible. For everyone’s safety, please avoid approaching the workers so they can remain focused on their tasks.
Thank you for your patience and support during this time.
Together we will!
Edward Pollard
