Representative Lizzie Fletcher

Dear Neighbor,

Over the past few months, I have heard from many of you about public safety, rising crime rates, and hate crimes targeting groups and individuals here in our community.  From the crimes that have taken the lives of our police officers to targeted violence against people based on their race, religion, and identity (at home and across the country), many of us are concerned about these events and what we can do about them.

That is why I have put together our May Community Conversation on this topic next Monday, May 23 from 6:00-7:00PM.  Joining us for the conversation will be State Representative Gene Wu (HD-187), Houston Police Department Assistant Chief Yasar Bashir, Anti-Defamation League Senior Associate Dena Marks, and Emgage Civic Engagement Director Niloufar Hafizi.

And for the first time since the pandemic, this event will be held in-person at the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center’s Merfish Teen Center (9000 S. Rice Avenue).  Click on the button below to RSVP!

I’m looking forward to seeing you for our conversation and hearing your thoughts.  If you have any questions, please email me or call me in Houston at (713) 353-8680 or in Washington at (202) 225-2571.

See you soon,
