THE PEOPLE’S CHAMP

 
On Friday, April 9th, Council Member Thomas received her vaccination and gave remarks at the first City of Houston-sponsored COVID-19 vaccination event to take place within the boundaries of District F. Thank you to Mayor Turner, Walgreens, The Church Without Walls, and all of the volunteers for making this possible, as well as to Congressman Al Green and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee for their undying support and advocacy of federal dollars for this type of event.
 
 
Many thanks also go out to the Tzu Chi Foundation, the Mayor’s Health Equity Response Task Force, Kroger, Jade Buddhist Temple for contributing to the 2,500+ COVID-19 vaccine shots administered from Friday through Sunday within District F!And lastly, we would like to thank Keep Houston Beautiful, Super Neighborhood 25, and all of the volunteers for their incredible efforts on Saturday, April 10th with cleaning up the intersection of Alief Clodine Rd and W Houston Center Blvd.
 
On Tuesday, April 13th, Council Member Thomas presented a proclamation to Sewa International – Houston Chapter for their community work in District F, with countless food and water distributions since the pandemic, and for their continuing dedication to serving the communities of District F.

On Wednesday, April 14th, Council Member Thomas dedicated her pop-off comments to the variance request in the Briarmeadow subdivision.

Chelford City Pkg. 1- R-000536-024A-4 (West Houston Center to Dairy Ashford)

  • West Houston Center Blvd and Westpark Dr intersection is anticipated for opening in the week of 04/23/21.
  • Dairy Ashford Rd and Westpark Dr – shaft construction is anticipated to start the week of 04/30/21.
  • Westpark Dr – Contractor backfilling remaining manholes
  • Substantial completion is anticipated by 09/08/21.

Chelford City Pkg. 1 – R-000536-024-4 (West of Dairy Ashford)

  • Project started on 08/31/2020.
  • Construction is in progress along Westpark Dr.
  • Anticipated substantial completion 05/03/2022.

DYNAMIC MESSAGING SIGNS

 
Dynamic Messaging Sign (DMS) installations are still in progress throughout the city.  Please click on the map above to view the status of signs in District F (as of 4/14/21).  Once installations are complete, the DMS will be integrated into a system at Transtar and will begin displaying weather and traffic messages to motorists.
