There are a couple of important updates related to your health and safety happening in our area of which you should be aware.

It is my hope that you will take necessary precautions to keep yourselves and your families safe and in good health. Please remain alert and stay tuned into weather reports throughout the weekend.

Together we will!

PREPARE FOR TROPICAL STORM HANNAH

Weather forecasts predict that the Greater Houston area will see a significant amount of rain over the weekend as a result of Tropical Storm Hannah. To minimize any negative impact to our community, each of us has to do our part.

Residents are asked to:

  • Check local ditches, inlets and gutters to make sure they are free from litter and debris.
  • Secure any items which might be washed or blown into the storm water system.
  • Call any street or structural flooding reports in to 311.
Some areas in Houston are more prone to flooding than others. Here is a map that details areas likely to flood during a severe weather event. Please avoid these areas as much as possible.

COVID-19 TESTING SITE IN DISTRICT J

A new COVID-19 testing site will be open on Monday, July 27 through Friday, July 31, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot of the PlazAmericas shopping center, located at 7500 Bellaire Blvd. in Houston. The site is for drive-through traffic only. No pedestrians will be tested at this time. Vehicles will be able to enter the site from Marinette Street and exit via Clarewood.

You are asked to continue wearing a mask or face covering when out in public, maintain social distancing and wash your hands frequently as we collectively work to stop the spread of COVID-19.
