The Southwest Management District hosted the elected Harris County treasurer, Carla Wyatt, and representatives of several Asian-owned banks along the Bellaire Boulevard today (Oct. 16) at Arco Seafood Restaurant.
With several District board members also in attendance, officers of area banks said the exchange was an unprecedented opportunity to meet their local counterparts in the industry, which frequently provides commercial loans in the Houston area.
Guests also welcomed Wyatt’s pledge to explore depositing county funds in the banks represented at the meeting as a way to diversify the way the county keeps its “savings” on hand.
The District will host a breakfast networking event for business leaders and others in southwest Houston on Wednesday. See the attached flyer for information.
