Bellaire Boulevard area sees growing variety of Asian-American businesses

Today, the heart of Chinatown - along Bellaire between Ranchester and Beltway 8 - bustles with more than 150 restaurants and 400 businesses in all, said Kenneth Li, owner and broker at Century 21 Southwest Real Estate. The surrounding area has many more Asian-American businesses, he said.

Baker-Ripley Neighborhood Center Summer Program

Baker Ripley is providing summer camp from June- August from 7:00am-6:00pm Monday- Friday for children ages 3-18. Jasmine Wang knew her company would be a good vendor for HISD, offering one-stop shopping for a range of supplies, from janitorial carts to Jasmine Wang, MWBE pencil sharpeners.

Video Series Gives Another Look at 2012 Bond Projects

The Houston Independent School District is launching a new series of videos to help explain different aspects of the 2012 bond program that will renovate, replace or rebuild 40 schools across the city.

The short videos, designed for both web and TV, cover topics such as procurement and insurance on bond projects, as well as the benefits of building schools that are environmentally sustainable. The goal is to give viewers a quick snapshot into how the district is moving forward with its $1.89 billion building plan.

Air China's Houston-Beijing Service Now Ready for Booking

Business and leisure travelers can now book their trip to Beijing and beyond from Houston. Scheduled to start on July 11, 2013, Air China’s new service between Houston and Beijing was approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation on January 17, 2013.
