Louisiana Floods One Year Later

A year after floods devastated Southern Louisiana, generous support from our donors has empowered the American Red Cross to help thousands of people affected by this destructive disaster. Our volunteers and employees provided food, shelter, relief supplies and support for months following the floods, and we continue to help families recover and rebuild.

As the one-year mark approaches, the Red Cross has spent or made commitments to spend 100 percent of the funding donated to us for the Louisiana Floods. We have helped families move back into their homes, provided financial support to people working to put their lives back together, enabled residents to clean out mold from their water-logged homes and given emotional support to those who have been through so much.

Here is an example of the difference you helped make in one family’s life:

“You all are the ones who bring the gift of possibility,” Yolanda said.

Our Louisiana Floods relief and recovery efforts are possible because of the compassion and generosity of donors like you. Thank you for helping us bring this gift to others in need.
