Just in time for the Holidays

Valet Parking Now Available at Hobby Airport

Valet Parking Houston AirportsHouston’s second largest commercial airport is famous for giving customers something to smile about with its low fares, close location to downtown and easy layout to navigate – now there’s one more thing to make customers happy—Valet Parking. Effective immediately, passengers departing from William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) can leave the parking to others with a new Valet Parking program.

This is the second location of the Valet Parking program, as it began at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in June, 2012. The Houston Airport System (HAS) is offering customers a $20 introductory price through January 7, 2013 at both IAH and HOU Valet Parking locations.

Crime prevention is truly a Police-Community partnership. By working together, we can reduce crime and enhance the quality of life.

HISD RFQ's for Architects and Engineers

The Houston Independent School District will open the solicitation process Saturday, Dec. 1, for architectural and engineering firms seeking to take part in the $1.89 billion bond program to replace and modernize schools across the city.

The Request for Qualifications will be available on the district’s website at http://prodnet.houstonisd.org/procurement/psd/. For companies interested in doing business with HISD, this RFQ is the first step toward winning a contract, and an important milestone in the district’s plan to ensure a quality construction program.

The RFQ encompasses the design and engineering work for all 40 schools slated to be renovated, replaced or built as part of the 2012 bond program.

Asian American Real Estate Association 2013 Scholarship Program

Asian American Real Estate Association is proud to announce the 2013 scholarship program. The purpose of the AAREA Scholarship is to recognize and to assist outstanding high school graduates and college students for their academic achievements and to reduce their financial burdens for college. Scholarship award is selected on the basis of academic achievement, financial need and community involvement. A maximum of five scholarships will be awarded this year.

The scholarship recipients will be recognized in 2013 AAREA Spring Gala on February 16, 2013 in Ocean Palace Restaurant.

Sharpstown Community Challenges Media Crime Reports

Headline Crime Reports Not Reflective of Actual Conditions

The Sharpstown Civic Association (SCA) takes strong exception to recent media reports portraying the Sharpstown community as plagued by crime. The homes within the Sharpstown Subdivision remain overwhelmingly safe, secure, and are a great place to raise a family or grow older. Reported crime is no more significant than other densely populated areas in Houston like the Galleria. The SCA strongly agrees with KHOU11 reporter Jeff McShan that single family "pocket neighborhoods" like Sharpstown, are safe and clean. The residents of perimeter area, substandard apartment communities bear the load of reported crime.
